Daylight is long in Bali, so there is plenty of time to explore Ubud in the late afternoons after the meetings. After Friday the 20th, if you decide to extend your stay in Bali, you can explore Ubud's beauty and culture through a plethora of activities, including the tours listed below. Taman Ayun Temple, a temple built by Mengwi kingdom in 1634 A.D, as the symbol of victorious kingdom, and dedicated to the Hindu gods and holy souls of high dignitaries of the kingdom. Kedaton Monkey forest, a temple surrounded by woods where wild monkeys, and fruit bats are hanging around. The monkeys are tame and we can feed them by hand. The temple is archaeological in characteristic.
Tanah Lot temple, a temple built on the rock, which is continuously under abrasion. Now the site is already separated from the main land of Bali. The best view is when sunset changes the temple into silhouette.

At The Secret Garden's Cooking School, you'll become familiar with the foods that are part of ritual and everyday life on this magical island. Our one and two-day intensive courses will give you a deep understanding and appreciation of this unique cuisine. You will learn to identify, prepare and blend the exotic spices & ingredients that are the soul of Balinese cooking. The School is conducted in our beautiful restaurant balé area, set amongst our tranquil tropical gardens and ponds. Like meditation in action, the art of Batik centers the mind and liberates the heart through creativity. Explore the simple and exciting process of batik painting. It will enable you to create a rewarding piece of art to bring home from your travels in Bali.

Your teacher is Bali batik artist Ketut Sujana. In this unique batik painting workshop Ketut will help you use this ancient art form to create contemporary designs.

Ketut’s gentle and patient instruction helps the student discover in physical form the images that all of us carry in our hearts; his workshops are specifically tailored for each group or individual.

All the action takes place in the studio behind Ketut's gallery. The studio is located in Lungsiakan on the main road just outside Ubud, Bali’s cultural and artistic center.

There’s plenty of room to move about and when you need to take time out and think about your master piece, the rice fields are in the back garden where planting and harvesting goes on in the traditional way.

• The Textiles of Bali & Indonesia: Tuesdays 10-12.00
Introduces textiles from across Indonesia while exploring weaving and dyeing techniques.
This 2-hours class contrasts the most common textile production techniques found in Indonesia.
We explore the various ikat, batik and supplementary weaving techniques; the differences between handspun and commercial threads, natural and chemical dyes, backstrap and mechanical loom weaving; and the motifs from the more prominent weaving areas.

Examines the history and traditional uses of textiles with a special focus on spice trade influences.
